After what definitely felt like the longest winter of my life, I can honestly say that I have never been so anxious to welcome in spring. It is probably because the winter started so early and so extremely that makes me and many other people feel this way.
The seasons play such an and it is always fascinating to look out of your window, on to your garden, and realise how true to the time of year things remain.
Winters are cold and the garden is fast asleep: what few plants remain in leaf look shocked to the core and there is a definite lack of colour. Then spring really does make everything burst into life - both in the flora and fauna of your garden.
By the time summer comes, there is plenty of colour in the garden and things are in full leaf, but nature is definitely starting to slow down a wee bit now.
Then autumn comes in and the garden prepares itself for the distinct lack of sun light and colder days that are only just around the corner.
You do have to admit it though, spring is the nicest time in your garden. Life surrounds you everywhere and there is always that magical hope that summer may actually be decent this year. Fat chance usually though!
