Grow Flowers on a Budget

Anyone can go grow flowers, if they want to. When you purchase peas and beans, you are actually buying the seeds as well. When you purchase them, just take out enough that you want to plant in a separate container. Once you are ready to plant the seeds, just get an old soup can or flowerpot and place dirt in it. Plant your seeds in the dirt, water, and place in a sunny place. In a few short days, you may notice your flowers sprouting.

Prepare your flowers ahead of time by getting your compost ready. When you rake leaves, place a small pile on the side of the yard that is out of everyone's way. When it rains, it will soften up. Also, stray animals may use the pile to do there business on. After a while it will become compost. You can add other items as well, but you do not want to pollute your yard.

Another way you can make your compost is to get a small trash can and place dirt, leaves, and other trash in it. Do not put meat items in the can since they will smell. Keeping the compost moist keeps it from smelling as well. In two weeks to four months, your compost should be finished. Start with a small batch to make sure that it comes out correctly. Once you are ready to plant your seeds, the compost will be ready.

Since you are planting seeds of beans and peas, your flowers will bloom out green. If you want to spend a few extra pennies, you can find some cheap flower seeds at your local market or dollar store. Once the flowers bloom high enough, take them out of the can or flowerpot and plant them in your yard. Place some of the compost down before planting them. You will need to make a bigger compost since the flowers will be in your yard.

Flowers love rainwater because it has a neutral PH. Make sure the area that you choose in your yard gets plenty of sun. By planting flowers you are not only making your home look nice, but you are helping the environment as well.
